He is an Electrical Engineer and a consultant with over 30 years’ experience. He holds BSc. Electrical. Engineering degree from Kwame Nkrumah University (KNUST) Kumasi, Ghana and MBA from University of Sterling, United Kingdom. He worked with Volta River Authority and the Ministry of Energy/ Energy Commission in various capacities including Electrical Program Officer, Designer and Supervisor for rural electrical installations. He has also supervised the design and production of Goshen Solar Lanterns. He is the founder and Managing Director of Wilkins Engineering Limited, a company he started in 1993. Wilkins Engineering Ltd undertakes electrical installations and production of solar energy equipment and lanterns. Wilkins Limited was awarded winner of Africa Awards 2010. Omane Frimpong is the immediate past president of the Association of Ghana Solar Industries. He serves on several advisory and ad hoc boards of the Energy sector in Ghana, and is a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers.
